Vinyasa Flow is one of the most popular types of yoga in Western society. In these classes, we practice similar poses as in Hatha Yoga, but in Vinyasa Flow classes, we synchronize the movements to our breath. The breath is the anchor, allowing us to move from one pose to the next.

There are lots of options for these poses, so this practice is accessible to practitioners of all levels!

Vinyasa Flow vs. Hatha Yoga

Vinyasa Flow and Hatha Yoga share many of the same poses, and they each help control your breathing. This improves your fitness and state of relaxation. The main difference between these two forms of yoga is the pace in moving between poses, which is higher in Vinyasa Flow classes than in Hatha Yoga.

Hatha Yoga may be more suitable if you:

  • are newer to yoga
  • prefer a slower and more relaxed pace
  • would like to focus on core strength

Vinyasa Flow may be more suitable if you:

  • are more familiar with yoga poses
  • have a high level of fitness
  • would like to focus on cardio and strength training

Every Friday:
