SEL in the Music Classroom Through Yoga

Musicians and students of music experience a range of social, emotional, and physical challenges – from performance anxiety to repetitive strain injuries. Yoga is an effective tool to cope with these challenges because it addresses physical, mental and social wellness – all in one! It is therefore unsurprising that an increasing number of professional musicians are incorporating yoga into their practice. In K-12 music curricula, however, the tool is still widely underused.
