In many ways, our Teen Yoga classes are similar to our mainstream classes. But in Teen Yoga, we place special emphasis on the unique needs of this age group. During exam season, for example, we offer specific strategies on how to cope with stressors. And throughout the year, we aim for these classes to be a safe space for physical practice, encouraging teens to develop a positive body image as they grow into adulthood.
Of course, coping with stressors and developing a positive body image are also addressed in our mainstream classes, which teens are more than welcome to follow. But in Teen Yoga, we try to use music that is especially popular among this age group. We have also found that our Teen Yoga classes often lead to powerful friendships among participants… fellow yogis of similar age and life experiences!
Moreover, our Teen Yoga classes are not only a great place for teens to make friends – they offer a great opportunity for parents to connect as well! After dropping off your child, why not enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with the parent of a fellow teen?
Currently, our Teen Yoga classes include participants of all gender identities. We understand, however, that some teens (or their parents) might feel more comfortable in a single-gender class. If so, please contact us to discuss this preference and the possibilities.
